Artistic
You are naturally born with a gift, whether it be
poetry, writing or song. You love beauty and
creativity, and usually are highly intelligent.
Others view you as mysterious and dreamy, yet
also bold since you hold firm in your beliefs.

hurt others. You are always looking for the

Went out with ee pin, wen and julian to KTV today... and we sang for 4hrs straight! Or rather, they sang while I screeched( somehow, rap songs like "in the end" and shaggy's " it wasn't me" aren't so good for karaoke... .) :)

I tell you, that girl can sing! What is she doing in medicine? Its a bloody waste of talent! Then again, with her aptitude in medicine... maybe not a waste after all... . And eepin has one hell of a powerful voice... strong and deep, it resonates, yet is never off key, off tune or off rythm.

Wen and Eepin sang one hell of a duet together. Their rendition of somewhere out there blew me away. Brought me back to primary school, when i first heard them sing that song together. They were amazing then... and they were even more amazing now. They always did have a certain chemistry when singing together... i think borne out of mutual respect for the other's talent.

And Julian, wen and eepin sang a birthday song for me that was sooo sweet! Thank god my skin doesn't show blushing easily!

Julian left early to go to school...lecture at 6 for him...(aghh! poor boy!) We left an hour later, and then went to swensons, and en-route, our doctor to be told us a bit on g-spots and hookers. She seemed remarkably well informed on such matters... hmmm :p

Eeps and I had ice-cream, while Wen abstained from food, as she was taking some aussie friends out to dinner. The ice-cream was so-so but the company was great, even though we were all pretty tired by then. Poor wen has work to go to tomorrow...Haiz!

And so endeth the day. Great singing, some screeching, but a whole lot of fun with some great friends... :)

FRIENDS...

Sometimes, you need to take a step back and look at your life. You should do that when you're feeling good...but more importantly, do it when you are feeling bad. It is far more important at that time then if you are happy... .

Yesterday was, I guess, such a day. I finally turned 21. And yet only 4 ppl (who were not of the immediate family) wished me. And I wondered why? Now, in my defence, let me say that I do get emotional at times, and I then tend to amplify my feelings, whether good or bad, a bit too much.

And I was getting miffed... . I had that childish, annoying feeling that " nobody cares" that assails us all from time to time. And I was caught in the vicious cycle of depression. And in the midst of all that darkness, a voice told me to step back and look at my life(a bit cliche but... ).

Why was I angry? B'cos nobody called... . But people didn't call because they didn't care, rather, they didn't know, and my overlarge ego took that as an affront.

Friendship isn't defined by birthday wishes or birthday gifts. It is a connection through shared experiences; joys and pleasant moments definately, but more importantly the trials and tribulations that we all experience; be it exam stress, divorce, or the death of a loved one. The people who stand by you through the pain of loss and sorrow, who try to lift you up when the world is doing all it can to hold you down, whether it be a listening ear or a comforting pat... they are your friends. And I forgot that in my haste to condemn... .

To all my friends... Sorry...Truly...

It has been MY honour and priviledge to have known you all, to have had you contributing to and enriching my life. For all your help, and all our shared memories,

Thank You...

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR ALL!!!

May your hong pao's be packed this year... as for me, I'm more or less broke...not a very auspicious start to the year huh... :(

Anyways, not a very nice chinese new year break thus far... Had a stupid 2 hr lesson on wednesday (from 8-10 AM!!!)...went to the gym for a 2hr workout then slept for 4hrs from 4-8pm... . ALso returned some of my books to SAN bookshop (needed the money, besides, no space to keep them at home)

My relatives came over from India on wednesday and thursday, and we spent the day with them...or rather my parents did. I stayed home to rot...and to sleep. Went jogging that evening at 6 40 pm... I struggled through my 4km jog ( shows that, though I run 15+min on the treadmill regularly, nothing beats cross country jogging for conditioning). Also saw a White-bellied Sea Eagle up close at CCK park. Amazing bird, with an amazing wingspan... and coming as it did through the purple storm clouds... Fantastic !

Went out to the gym again today, before heading off to watch the last Samurai with my aikido friends. Great movie, great action scenes...and Tom Cruise's acting was simply superb! If you like samurai movies, this is a must watch. The ending made me tear! I'm an absolute sop for sad endings, lost causes, friendships and glory and honour.

We then had dinner at MOS burger at somerset, where I saw an NJ schoolmate of mine whom I hadn't seen in ages, as well as another gym friend who I meet very infrequently. Jude, my NJ friend is going to NSW to study aeronautical engineering, while Victoria is working at california fitness. She has triceps to rival WEN's!!! (not that I specifically noticed..)

Went to have dessert at Crepes and Cream at the Heeren after that. Between the 11 remaining people, we had 2 earthquake type items (total of 16 scoops). There were 2 waitresses... one was I think a newbie... cause she didn't really have defined triceps like our dear friend ... (plus she had the trainee tag on...). Can't help it though! Will never look at ice-cream stores the same way again! Anyway, we chatted till 1030pm before heading back by train...the whole lot of us. I also finally bought that damn "Master and Commander" Soundtrack! $28.10 for 1 CD.... it BETTER be worth it!

Met up with Wen, Julian and eeps today... with a special guest appearance by Valerie Qianhui... :)

Its amazing how people change, yet don't.

Eeps was still the hasn't changed, even though we met after 4 yrs, he's still the same crappy self , though he has grown taller and his voice is deeper.

Julian is, and will always be, Mr Niceguy...also Mr Blurguy... and a true friend

Wen... CHECK OUT THOSE TRICEPS!!! :) Ha! Still as bubbly and sweet as ever... thanks for the card, the gift...and most importantly... your friendship...

You'll always be my " 'lil miss"

See you guys in the 29th Jan...I'll also bring the earplugs (its for you...in case you make the grave mistake of asking me to sing...)

Hello Again Guys...

Its been what, 1month and 16 days since i last published anything... blame it on the i-net connection back in India...11 people connected to the net, all sharing a 56.6k modem... Ridiculous, ain't it?

Anyway, had a great trip with lots of pictures of weddings (No I didn't get married... nor did I go to look for a wife... and the next idiot who tells me that is going to get a punch where the sun don't shine...)

Anyways, saw a lot of things back home in India.... there has been a lot of changes in India... for better and for worse. Saw funny things, and saw things that were thought-provoking and heartbreaking. The top 5 list of each (from 5 being least funny to 1 being the most) is below...

Top 5 crazy funny things:

5) Traffic lights are now present in India... Now if only they removed the policemen who sit at the traffic light to manually change the colour from green to red... .

4) Someone should tell the drivers there that overtaking by crossing into the path of oncoming vehicles is both illegal and hazardous to health... of all concerned...

3) Why is it that the cleanest place i saw in Kolkata was the public rubbish bin?

2)The fire alarm going off at the wedding... and watching everyones reaction...

1) Shri-shri Larry Maharaj ji...this i gotta tell you in person... its too wordy for me to type...

Top 5 awe inspiring things...

5) The plane ride from Pokhara to Kathmandu...flying in a 19 seater propellor plane and travelling btw the mountains...jurassic park style... flying below the level of the hill tops, and waving up to those people on those hills...

4) The elephant safari at Chitwan... saw animals up close like I've never seen them before, from the Indian rhino, to countless deers and peacocks...

3) The people of Chitwan...So warm and friendly, despite all the hardships that they face...forever cheerful...

2) The chitwan night sky... a celestial painting showing me the beauty that exists in life...the complexity in apparent simplicity, the beauty of the dark void amidst the chirps of crickets and the moans of elephants... .

1) The beauty of the himalayas... awe inspiring. I was reduced to insignificance next to them( not that I have much significance yet) Their majesty will blow your breath away... . Be it the magnificent windy, sunset at Nagarkot, the acres of mustard fields, or the temple-in-the-lake at pokhara... The himalayas stood above them all, a silent sentinel.

Top 3 depressing, heart-wrenching things

3) Grandma...where are you? She was the soul of the house... a 5ft tall giant, whose absence makes the once big house seem so tiny.I miss her, her wisdom, and her love...

2) Watching the poor suffer...especially the kids. I might not be able to do much now... but i will, come hell or high water i WILL.

1) I saw a paraphlegic boy...sitting on his rusty old wheelchair in a dirty sweater, on the road, next to a muddy pond, trying to dry his nose... and I almost broke down. That struck a chord in me so deep, made me realise how truly, wonderfully lucky I am.
