Selamat Hari Raya!!! Its another of those rare holidays in Singapore. Didn't really matter to me cause I'm already "enjoying" my holidays now. Honestly though...not much enjoyment, cause I'm SOOO bored!! No one to go out with and there is only Soo much that one can do at home, and I've almost finished Feist's book. Went to the gym again... been going there everyday since exams ended... Crowded today... but no JJ girl...sigh.... :(
Oh well, going to India in a weeks time... can't wait! I miss the place, the food, most of all, the people. Going there is an emotional roller-coaster for me. I meet my grandparents and my uncles, and i get pampered outrageously... but... in sharp contrast, you see the slums;whole families living under a tent made of jute, the size of which is less than half the size of my room, the beggarboy asking for a few coins for food, the white-haired old coolie(porter) who is forced to work to support his family, etc.
There are tons such people there, yet, amidst all this pain and suffering, what really gets me down are the smiles. These people who know such hardship can still smile and laugh, finding the simple joys of the family, their refuge from hunger and the troubles of the world. And it hurts that I can do nothing more than salute them...
