Had the most amazing meal last night. It was at this turkish restaurant that I went to with my parents. Hadn't gone out with them for a while(thanks to the exams) and it was good to have that family bonding again. It seems that the older one gets, the easier it is to forget some of the simple pleasures in life. And while there is a need to have friends to hang out with, one should also go out with the family once in a while, exchanging in the simple bantering that marks all the people in my family.

Anyway, those are thoughts for another day. Lets get back to the main attraction... FOOD! It was superb! We all had different main courses. My dad being a vegie, had vegetarian musaka with pita bread. It's a bit like veg lasagne but with eggplants and a lot of veges...was a bit cheesy but the serving size was lessened, so that you don't overeat. My mom had this grilled chicken that was tender and gave out this wonderful barbecued smell, while I had TWO main courses. First up, had chicken salznay kebab on pita bread. This came with a tasty, tangy barbecue spice sauce that was simply yummy! The second dish was a tenderly baked salmon, that was done just right. It came with herb sauce, some potato wedges and a side salad that had this exquisite olive oil dressing. Then came the deserts...

Vanilla ice-cream with raspbery sauce was quite nice... but the 2 stars were the turkish tiramisu and the Balclava. The tiramisu was not too sweet, more like a cake then anything else, and quite soft. The balclava was some crunchy baked pastry that contained molasses, honey and some nuts in the inside. All you had to do was bite into it, suck a bit, swallow and then take some of the pistachio ice-cream that came with it. Ahhh!!! Heaven I tell ya!

Came back, finished reading "Waylander" by Gemmel and started on "Talon of the Silver Hawk" by Feist. Then listened to Clannad and drifted into blissful oblivion. This is the life....
